Getting the right breakfast can make the difference between a productive day and a day that gets thrown out of whack before you even leave your house. But not everybody wakes up on the same side of the bed! We’ve got a few healthy breakfast ideas that will make your morning more relaxed, no matter what kind of morning person you are.
Check out these five-morning personality styles and the perfect healthy breakfast ideas to go with them:
1. You wake up hours before you have to go to work.
You like to savor your cup of coffee in the morning. For you, classic bacon and eggs are perfect! This meal is rich in fat and protein and low in carbs, meaning you’ll fuel yourself without spiking your insulin too early.
For the eggs, try making a nutritious scramble or omelet using leftover veggies. For an easier way to make bacon, try baking it in a 400-degree oven for about 15 to 20 minutes, or until the bacon strips get to your preferred level of crispiness.

2. You don’t like to rush, but you don’t want to wake up at the crack of dawn to crack eggs, either.
If you like to have extra time in the morning but don’t want to spend it making breakfast, whip up a batch of overnight oats or chia seed pudding the night before. These meals are delicious, rich in fiber, and as easy as to eat as a bowl of cereal (but much healthier, of course).
3. You usually roll out of bed and right out the door.
Quick is great, and PORTABLE is even better for someone who rushes around. But if you’re going to eat on your morning commute, you need something that’s not super messy and doesn’t require cutlery.
For these folks, egg muffins (prepared beforehand) are a great solution. If that feels a little too challenging, a few hard boiled eggs and an apple work wonders, too!
4. You like to workout in the morning.
Some people who exercise in the morning can’t work out on an empty stomach. Others prefer to workout fasted, but want to consume quality fuel as soon as possible once their workout is finished. A nutrient-dense smoothie is perfect for either style!
Smoothies are quick to make and easy to bring with you to the gym. They’re also an easy way to add some extra protein for that post-workout window.
5. You live with a lot of other hungry people.
What’s better than a big pancake breakfast shared with family or friends? How about a pancake breakfast made with healthy ingredients?
You can make Paleo pancakes using just bananas, eggs, and ground flaxseed or nut butter. While a bit time consuming, pancake recipes are easy to double or triple, so you can make a ton and save the extras for later. They even keep in the freezer, so you can make them ahead of time and reheat.
